Biography

Zhang Guoxi, Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Urology at Peking University People's Hospital, received a bachelor's degree from Suzhou Medical College in 1988 and a master's degree from Peking University Health Science Center in 2009. He has long focused on the diagnosis and treatment of common andrological conditions such as male sexual dysfunction and prostate diseases, and is an authority in the field of penile prosthesis implantation; for many years, his number of surgical cases has ranked first in China. He has led two Research and Development Fund projects of Peking University People's Hospital, participated in two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, served as chief editor of two national-level andrology textbooks, and published more than 20 papers in domestic and international journals such as the Chinese Journal of Urology and the journal Andrology, including 4 SCI-indexed papers. In 2014, he went to Xishuangbanna and completed the region's first vasoepididymostomy and other surgeries, promoting the development of andrology in border areas.

With more than 30 years of clinical experience in urology and andrology, his areas of expertise include:
Severe erectile dysfunction: performs penile vascular surgery and penile prosthesis implantation; completes more than 50 prosthesis implantation surgeries annually, with surgical volume having long ranked first in China;
Diagnosis and treatment of premature ejaculation: led clinical research on selective dorsal penile neurectomy and established individualized treatment plans;
Penile reconstructive surgery: completed complex procedures such as concealed penis correction and penile curvature correction, filling the technical gap in related procedures at Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture People's Hospital;
Management of prostate diseases: proposed non-pharmacological intervention strategies for patients with asymptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia and advocated controlling disease progression through lifestyle modifications.
